Mother & Daughters (July 2018)

Since Before I Left

Home to Greensboro, and this time the camera was all for family. My sister and my two nieces gave me two days to wander the city with them and take photos wherever the light looked good.

On the first day we stayed downtown, among shady benches and gold doors, with the three of them together and then each on her own. The second day was quieter, just the girls among the flowers and greenery. Jocelyn was a year past graduation, and Icyss was close behind her, both of them showing more of who they were becoming than they probably realized.

The last time I photographed the three of them together, I was getting ready to leave North Carolina. They had grown up a lot since then, and my sister had watched every step of it. This time I got to see it too.
