Before I Left

I had spent my whole life in North Carolina and somewhere along the way decided I wasn't ready to be the person who waited until retirement to see more of it. So I made the decision to move to Orlando, near my cousins, and start a new chapter. Before I left, my sister wanted to do a fun shoot with her girls, and I was happy to oblige.

We set up a white backdrop and kept it simple. The girls did their individual portraits like pros. Then my sister got involved, and things went exactly the way they always go when my sister gets involved. She has always been the funny one, and the camera caught it honestly. The girls orbited her energy the way they always have, one laughing, one occasionally horrified, both completely at home.

These are the kinds of pictures that don't need a location or a concept. They just need the right people in the room together, and we had that.
