Triad Pride - Greensboro, North Carolina (June 1010)
Outside with the City
Triad Pride came back to Greensboro in June 2010, and this time I was outside with the rest of the city. The difference from a club show is everything: open sky, afternoon sun, a crowd that spills across the grass and doesn't need a reason to be there beyond showing up.
The stage ran all day with a lineup that included Jeremiah, Crystal Frost, Fuscia Rage, Anjelica Dust, Macaria Rage, Lawanda Jackson, Jessica Jade, Tucker Wood, Taylor Knight-Addams, Cherries Jubilee, Paisley Parque, and My'Kel Knight-Addams among others. Taylor brought a Michael Jackson tribute that stopped the lawn. My'Kel did a backbend on the grass in front of whoever happened to be watching.
A parrot sat on someone's shoulder like it had been doing this for years. The disco ball was rainbow. The city was out. I did not know it at the time, but this would be the last Triad Pride I would shoot.
