Brother of the Groom
Travis and Kahla were married in April 2010 at a church in Thomasville, North Carolina, and I was there as a brother first and a photographer second. The hired photographer had her assignments and her angles. I had an agreement to stay out of her way and shoot what she wasn't looking for.
What that produced was something looser and more honest than a staged wedding album tends to be. The groomsmen goofing off outside. The candlelit altar before the ceremony. The couple walking back down the aisle, him in Converse, her smiling like she already knew how the day would end.
The black and white kiss against the brick wall might be my favorite frame from the whole day.
