Tyler, On the Town

Tyler told me he wanted to model, and I figured the best way to find out was to hand him a city and see what he did with it. So we headed downtown for an afternoon on the streets of Memphis.

We moved between park lawns, stone walls, office doorways, and murals bright enough to compete with him. Tyler did not need much warming up. He had his own ideas about how he wanted to look, and a grin that showed up whether I asked for it or not.

For a first time in front of the camera, he made it easy. Somewhere between the serious looks and the laughing ones, you can see someone figuring out that he belongs there.
