The Pride

My friend Jocelyn is a face painter, and every year her family keeps a tradition of portraits with painted faces. This time she asked me to photograph her kids, and I was happy to oblige.

Her son and daughter came dressed in coordinated leopard print and posed together under a big shade tree on their quiet neighborhood street. The whole family joined in too, with each face painted as a different big cat in bold pinks, blues and golds.

Traditions like this are what families hold onto most. It was a joy to help capture one, and the big cats definitely stole the show.
