Junior, High Point

Armstrong Park in High Point has that particular kind of North Carolina green that takes over everything in late spring. Dense canopy, mossy stone walls, sandy creek beds, branches stacked into natural formations by whoever wandered through before you. Junior wanted something woodsy, and the park delivered without us having to look very hard for it.

We worked through everything the park had to offer. The trees and water gave us one kind of frame, the stone walls another, the sandy ground and the natural lean-tos in the deeper woods something else entirely. It was the kind of location where the environment does a lot of the work for you if you let it.

Junior was comfortable here. The park has a way of putting people at ease, and he moved through it like he belonged in it, which made for a very different kind of shoot than pavement and brick walls ever could.
