Memphis, Tennessee (June 2019)
Another Year, Same River
I came back to Memphis to see Aries and celebrate our June birthdays together, and while I was in town I took the chance to photograph more of downtown.
This time I spent most of my time along the river. From the grassy banks of Mud Island, the skyline lines up across the harbor, and the Pyramid shines at the north end of the riverfront. I walked the covered bridge to the island, watched a riverboat resting at the landing, and found the big, colorful MEMPHIS letters standing proudly with the city behind them. Hibiscus and coneflowers added color everywhere I turned.
Memphis has a way of pulling me back, and Aries is a big part of the reason. Celebrating another year with him, in a city that still feels like home, made this visit something special.
