Reco, Runway Ready
Business brought me back to St. Louis, and this time my friend Reco was waiting with a request. He wanted a photoshoot, and as a lifelong fan of America’s Next Top Model, he showed up ready to work.
We started downtown among the alleys, brick walls, and doorways, then headed to the grounds of the former St. Augustine’s, the same church I had once spotted over the treeline. We finished at Citygarden, with its sculptures and waterfalls and the Arch watching from above. Reco did not need direction so much as a place to stand. Every location got a new look, a new attitude, and a new pair of sunglasses.
Tyra would have been proud. Some people you photograph, and some people make the photographs happen. Reco was the second kind.
